    Happy birthday, Jace!!

See this handsome boy?? This is my nephew, Jace and Jace turns 5 YEARS OLD TODAY!!! Isn’t he a cutie?? Mike and I don’t get to see Jace nearly as often as we’d like to (they’re nearly 2 hours away) but we get to spend quite a bit of time with him and his equally adorable little sister, Kenna at camp during the summer… is it May yet??? Funny thing is… Mike’s brother Brian and our sister-in-law Kim would probably like to keep us far FAR away from Jace & Kenna during their impressionable years. You see, we’re the cool aunt & uncle and we have absolutely no issues feeding…

Valentines Day; All About The Guys

Last week, I received this text from Jessies husband, Patrick.  HECK YEAH!!! And so I decided to invite a couple other “dudes” to make it less intimidating. And in true “Lisa” fashion, once all was agreed to and a time was set, I cheerfully told them “now go make up some lie to your wives for Sunday that doesn’t include me” 🙂 Then we gathered. Patrick couldn’t lie to Jessie and so he told her “I have to step out for a little while”. TJ, on the other hand… he may be a little too good at lying to his wife because he was “helping Vinnie move some stuff”. Erica,…

Stamp Ink Paper Challenge # 186; Product Feature, VELLUM!!

The Stamp Ink Paper design team is back with another challenge for you this week and for this challenge, we’re featuring a product; vellum. Now if you’re like me, you have a love / hate relationship with Vellum. I love the appeal that it adds to my creations, but I hate that you can usually see the adhesive peaking through the front of that little beast we know as vellum.  So when I was tasked with this challenge, I immediately thought;  I hate that thing about vellum! Buttttttttt, I just got a bunch of new 2nd release Sale-A-Bration items and so I was super excited to incorporate those too!! And…

  • Sympathy

    Condolences

Todays’ post is quite possibly one of the most difficult and challenging things that I’ll share on this blog. But that’s real life and there are times when we need to face sadness, struggles, and loss. Today is one of those days. My very dear friend Patty, has been battling cancer for several years and just last week she lost that battle. Patty’s daughter Jennie, has been my friend since childhood. I have so many fond memories with Patty and Jennie, and Jennie never complained once that she had to share her mom with me. Patty was the mom I never had, but always needed.   In earlier years, I…

Stamp Ink Paper, design challenge #185: Clean & Simple Valentine

The Stamp Ink Paper design team is at it again with a new challenge for you this week; Clean & Simple Valentine.  As many of you know, I don’t do “clean & simple” very well, so this was quite the challenge for me as well.  Click HERE for the design challenge guidelines and to find inspo from other Design Team members. Then be sure to post your entry! Alright, so…. Clean & Simple. I gave it a go and it’s still probably a little more (busy) than most Clean & Simple designs, but I just can’t stop layering and embellishing! If there’s one thing I’ve learned over the years, it’s…

  • Multi-purpose cards

    Words Can’t Express…

-how much I love you. -How sorry I am. -How much I appreciate you. -How happy I am for you.   As you can see, there are MANY uses for this kind of card. Because the card is pretty monochromatic, the card would be appropriate for a congratulatory greeting just the same as a note of sympathy. For that reason, I’m giving this card a  HUGE thumbs up. So versatile, I tell ya! Supply List: Dear Doily bundle Doily Textured Impressions Emboss Folder Card stock colors: Whisper White (thick) & Very Vanilla Gold Foil Paper Gold Glimmer Paper Sprig Punch Versa Mark (for heat embossing) Gold and Clear Heat Emboss…

    Humming Along… not so much

Once in awhile, I see a new card-making technique and I think to myself; “Self, you should try THAT”.  The most hysterical thing about this entire post is that I used the “Humming Along” stamp set and trust me when I tell you, I’m anything BUT humming over this creation. Back to the part where I tell myself to try something new. -So I do and sometimes I’m like OMG, that’s so amazing. And then the next 486 cards I make have that same technique and all is well in the world. And other times I’m like.. why on earth did I do that! Ladies (and gents) I will always…

    Birthday cake, anyone??

Alright, I confess; I am the WORST at sending birthday cards. With a few exceptions; my husband, my son, my father, and my bestie. To anyone else in my circle; I apologize. And 2019 is my year! One of my goals (we’re still talking about new year, new you, right??) is to be more mindful about sending birthday cards.  Since today is my brothers birthday, guess what he’s getting for his special day?? I’m tellin’ ya, I am GOING to build a stash of amazing birthday cards and I am GOING to send them this year! -Like, heLLLLLLLooooooooo, I make cards, there really is no good excuse! This year, I’ll…

Stamp Ink Paper Challenge #184; Something for Baby

The Stamp Ink Paper (SIP) Design Team is at it again! We hope to inspire you with our creations and can’t wait to see what you come up with! Also, Sarah, one of our other DT Members just had a beautiful baby boy on Friday! How fitting!  This weeks’ challenge; Something for Baby! My “baby” is 22 now and far gone are the cutesy cards, so I don’t generally gravitate towards cartoon-like stamps. Here’s my handsome boy! His name is Kyle and he is the light of my life. Also notable; Kyle has long-ago surpassed bunnies and bibs and definitely favors my creations that include gift cards  🙂 So when baby…
